Degree Requirements
Graduation Requirements
- Completion of 90 semester credits of coursework beyond your bachelor's degree. With approval, up to half (maximum of 30 credits) of your master's degree work may be transferred from another regionally accredited institution that offers master’s degrees in the discipline.
- Maintenance of at least a 3.0 GPA for all classes completed as a graduate student.
- At least half of the credits must be in the major field, including:
- At least 10 credits of dissertation—which incorporates independent work that is an original contribution to the knowledge field
- A minimum of 6 credits in the Foundations of Education
- A minimum of 12 credits of Scholarly Tools
- At least 12 credits of a minor or cognate in a supporting area.
- Meet the residency requirement by remaining enrolled in the program for all semesters, which includes two Seminar classes during the first two summers of the program.
