How Online Certificates Work
With the Autistic Spectrum Disorders online program, you can earn your graduate certificate from the University of North Dakota without interrupting your career. The entire ASD Graduate Certificate is offered online; you are NOT required to come to campus at any time.
As an online student, you will participate in most class activities at the time and place of your choice.
You will use Web-based tools to:
- view weekly 60-minute class lectures (90 minutes for summer courses).
- access related assessment demonstrations.
- complete assigned readings.
- participate in threaded discussions on topics posted by your instructor throughout the semester.
For some of the courses, you will work with a child who has (or is suspected of having) ASD.
Live "Chat" Sessions
In addition, you will participate in weekly 45-minute “live chat” sessions (75 minutes for summer courses). Your instructor will schedule the time for the live chat sessions during the first week of class.
Every effort will be made to schedule chat sessions around students' work schedules.
