How Online Degrees Work
With the Master of Science in Applied Economics (MSAE), you can earn your master's degree from the University of North Dakota without interrupting your career. The entire degree program is offered online; you are not required to come to campus at any time.
You will receive the convenience of distance learning with the personal contact and connection of “live” instruction through Web-based, online courses.
"Live" Web Lectures
As an online student in “live” Web classes, you may:
- participate in class lectures that are conducted “live” over the Internet at set times.
- interact with your instructors and other students using Web-conferencing technology.
- see your instructors’ materials as though you were sitting in a classroom on the UND campus.
In this manner, the class lectures, discussion, and collaboration are conducted in a very similar fashion to traditional on-campus classes.
If your schedule does not permit you to participate during the "live" Web lectures, then you may review the recorded class lectures that are accessed through the Internet at any time.
"Live" Web Discussions
In many courses, you will be expected to participate in "live" discussions held outside of classroom lecture times. These are held at set times which are convenient for most students.
