Review the appropriate nutrition screening and assessment as ways of providing cost-effective care. Nutrition screening evaluates a person’s health considering historic, anthropometric, dietary, clinical and laboratory data.
With these tools, the health care team can:
- identify a client’s specific needs
- plan and implement appropriate strategies
- evaluate the results
The registered dietician (RD) is usually the care team member who does the assessment. However, nutrition screening or assessment information can be gathered by a trained dietary manager.
